How we review applications

Every application is scored on three things.

10%It fits a fund theme. Does your project match one of this fund's themes?
30%It makes a difference that lasts. Do we know who will be impacted and how you'll measure the impact? Will the project continue to have an impact after the funding runs out?
60%The plan is clear. Are the description, goals, timeline and budget easy to follow? Can you show you're able to make it happen?
3 tips before you start

Get organised. Know your goals, your activities, and why your community needs this now. Then describe them in an order that's easy to follow.

Measure the change. Pick at least 3 things you can count or measure when the project is done. Not just what you hope will happen.

Be specific about the budget. Say what you'll buy and roughly what it will cost.

What a good answer looks like

Pick numbers that show your project worked. For example:

  • How many volunteers took part
  • How many people will attend the weekly sessions
  • How many kilos of vegetables you gave away
  • The % of participants that felt closer to their neighbours

Avoid just saying things like "the project will help the community" as it's hard to count.
